Meet James Burns

James Burns is a lifelong Rock Hill native deeply rooted in our community. He attended Rock
Hill public schools, graduated from The Citadel in 2005, and has proudly worked in his family’s
business, Burns Chevrolet Cadillac, for the past 17 years.
A devoted family man, James married Jennifer (Wallace) Burns in 2010. Together, they are
raising four wonderful children, three daughters in the fifth, eighth, and ninth grades, and a son
in the third grade, all of whom attend our local public schools.
James is committed to faithfully serving the hardworking families of York County. Drawing on his
extensive local experience, he deeply respects our traditional values, faith-based principles, and
common-sense priorities.
As a conservative, James stands firmly for transparency, accountability, and limited
government—principles that ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, and officials remain
answerable to the people.
His top priorities include:
• Upholding fiscal responsibility through lower taxes and reduced wasteful spending.
• Restoring excellence in education by returning control to parents and local communities,
emphasizing core academics, protecting parental rights, and rejecting divisive ideologies
in our classrooms.
• Championing free enterprise and job creation by cutting burdensome regulations, supporting
small businesses, and fostering an economic environment where hard work and
innovation can thrive.
• Fight for our fair share of infrastructure funding so that we can repair the roads we have and
build the roads we need.
Through straightforward, honest engagement rooted in conservative principles, James Burns
will work tirelessly to strengthen our economy, secure safe communities, and build a more
prosperous future for York County.
